联合国教科文组织为刘文敏先生颁发的荣誉证书中指出：中国摄影家刘文敏在参加联合国教科文组织举办的丝绸之路国际考察团期间，以其出色的工作和优异的成绩受到高度赞扬，他的摄影作品于1991年在联合国教科文组织总部大厦第26届大会期间进行展览，这些作品弘扬了丝绸之路文化遗产，刘文敏为丝绸之路展览作出了重大贡献，他的部分摄影作品被联合国教科文组织所收藏。
This is to certify that
LIU Wenmien, photographer for China Pictorial Publications,
participated in the International Team of the UNESCO Silk Roads Steppe Route Expedition in the USSR, 18 April- 17 June 1991. The excellent quality of his work during the Expedition was highly appreciated. A number of his photographs have been deposited in the UNESCO Photo Library.
LIU Wenmin's photographs represented a major contribution to the Silk Roads Exhibition held during the 26th Session of the
UNESCO General Conference, 1991, serving to illustrate the Project's first three expeditions and to highlight the cultural heritage of the Silk Roads.
