Maria Menshikova is currently Senior Research Fellow, Curator of Chinese Decorative Arts and Jewelry in the Oriental Department of the State Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg and Curator of the Dunhuang collection in the State Hermitage Museum. She received her degree from Saint Petersburg State University, Russia in 1981. She was awarded an Andrew W. Mellon Fellowship to study the Museum's collection of Chinese decorative art and textiles.
