On March 29th, the open ceremony of two exhibitions"Traditional Korean Costumes and Textiles" and “Costumes inMemory: Sino-Korean Joint Conservation Project of Ming Dynasty Textiles” washeld at the fashion gallery in China National Silk Museum (CNSM).
By presenting traditional Korean costumes, fabrics and the weaving and dyeing techniques used in the costume making process, the exhibition "Traditional Korean Costumes and Textiles" aims at enhancing the Chinese audience's understanding of Korean traditional costume culture and offering an opportunity for exchanges between China and Korea in the fields of inheritance, restoration and flexible application of this intangible cultural heritage.
Another exhibition, “Costumes in Memory: Sino-Korean Joint Conservation Project of Ming Dynasty Textiles”is held to enhance communication and cooperation while presenting what NSM and the Korean Heritage group have both achieved. One of the aims of the exhibition is to provide traditional-costume-enthusiasts with knowledges in exquisite details basing on material artefacts and a broad platform for effective communication.
In the ceremony, CNSM and Korean DaeguNational Museum signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
After the opening ceremony, the guests went to the exhibition hall in Fashion Gallery. Dr. Sim Yeon-ok, as the curator of the exhibition "Traditional Korean Costumes and Textiles", gave a wonderful guide to the guests.
